UK government sovereign-space and defence-connectivity spending, distinct from Germany's Bundeswehr programme and NATO HALO. The Ministry of Defence is deciding between Airbus and Lockheed Martin for the SkyNet 6 satellite contract, now put at up to £2bn for two geostationary satellites. A decision is due within weeks, the clearest live test yet of whether sovereignty beats a US-integration pitch.
